Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,
A warm welcome to those of you joining us at CBS Tramore for the first time. The School prides itself on providing a positive atmosphere for your academic, social and personal growth. We aim to teach you the skills you will need to deal with a variety of exciting challenges in the years ahead. We actively encourage all of our students to participate fully in school life, from becoming involved in our student council to joining school teams.
For those of you who are returning for another term – I hope you enjoyed the summer and trust that you are well rested in preparation for the academic year.
I hope that we can make 2008/2009 a memorable and successful year for everyone in our school community and I trust that each one of you will endeavour to take advantage of all opportunities that will be presented to you during the course of the academic year.
The school places a strong emphasis on partnership with Parents to ensure the best possible progress of each student. Education is viewed as a joint effort between Students, Parents and School. As a consequence, great emphasis is placed on mutual co-operation.
Contact with Parents is maintained through Parent/Teacher Meetings and this school journal. This student journal is used as a means of ongoing communication between school and home.
Students at CBS Tramore are encouraged to become active and well rounded citizens who excel in their academic and personal lives. The school endeavours to identify and develop the strengths of all students, whether they be extremely gifted vocationally or academically.
We encourage students to take part in the development of school policies and procedures so keep up to date with your Student Council representative. This year I am able again to have teachers based in their own classrooms so move swiftly at class breaks according to you timetable.
I hope all students strive to achieve their best by doing their best and take what’s on offer at CBS Tramore in extra curricular activities/events. Thanks to all teachers who give so much in and outside the classroom. I hope you realise how lucky we are to have such a committed staff. I would also like to welcome new students and staff to the school and wish them the very best of luck. Show you appreciation by always working with us in a mature manner.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. Pat McEvoy
Principal,
CBS Tramore.
